Hot Springs or bust!

For Easter, Chadd and I went to Hot Springs, Arkansas for a mini-vacation. At first I did not want to go because I had so many wedding "things" to do, I hated to leave. But we had an absolute blast and I am so glad I went. I really needed to recharge the batteries.
The races were so much fun! Chadd and I bet money on 8 of the 11 races. We won some, we lost some. We came, we saw, we won two dollars. Not bad for rookies. We learned alot about the different betting tactics: bet to win, bet to place, bet to show. . .exacta, trifecta, superfecta, blah blah blah. I bet on a horse named Dimple Pinch. I just knew it was Dimple Pinch's day. He was going to lead me to the big money. Unfortunately, five other horses beat him to the punch. Maybe next time, Dimple Pinch.
We also visited the beautiful Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs. We took some great pics! I'm talking gobs and gobs of flowers. But beautiful nonetheless.

We also stayed at this great B&B. The people were so nice and breakfast was wonderful! Um, cinnamon coffee cake. . .droooool. . .

Another Sunday Slave-Day
Afterwards, we slaved away finishing our clean-up duties around the farm getting ready for the big day. I tackled the tack room. . .ha-ha get it?. . .tackle. . .tack room. . .ok, nevermind. Then I finished cleaning up the bunk house. Mom and Dad mowed the grass even though I mowed it last week, it has grown that much!
Oh, did I mention I finally finished shaving the mini's? And I have a sore back to prove it! No really, they look adorable and I am relieved to have finished. Although my back hurts so bad I have to sleep with the heating pad on it. I will post new pics soon (^_^)

Weekend Endeavors
ere is heating up fast. To say the least, the minis must have had other plans because they wanted nothing to do with me or my shaving objective. So I only finished their heads and had to call it a day. Now they look like they are wearing V-neck sweaters.
Scooter, the black/white one, is the larger of the two and I call him my "little bulldog" because nothing stops him from doing what he wants. He can be stubborn at times, he once drug my ass all over the yard when I was trying to catch him! I sustained several bleeding wounds and bruises before I could get him to stop. But he can be a sweetie, you just have to look beyond the "bulldog" to see it. . .
Squirt, our red/white mini, is the barn sweethart. He wants nothing more than to be by your side all of the time. He also wants nothing more than to take a bite out of a juicy unsuspecting booty! So keep your eyes peeled if you must bend over
in his presence. Squirt is always up to no good, he will eat anything he can get his lips on. During one BBQ get-together, everyone had to eat "bunless" hotdogs because Squirt ate ALL of the hotdog buns off of the table! He even snagged himself a cheeseburger for dessert. What a pig.We are also working on cleaning up the wedding and reception "areas." It is looking very beautiful, very "woodsy". . . so we are getting very excited for the big day. Once the trees bloom, things will really start to take shape. The tori gate is currently under creative planning and will soon be under construction. Here's a picture of me sitting in the "wedding area." Where the grass meets the trees is Bear Creek. It's such a peaceful place. . .our little slice of paradise.

Welcome to our blog
I am using this site to keep you posted on what is going on in our little lives. Anyone who is reading this probably already knows me and Chadd. . .and our wedding.
Or D-Day as I call it! June 3, 2006. No really, we are very excited. To Chadd (and this goes for all grooms in general), it is going to be a big fun party. . .but for me (and you know what I am talking about, brides!), planning a wedding is another overwhelmingly stressful reason to gorge yourself on chocolate everynight in the bubblebath. Lookout, wedding dress. . .here comes Bertha. So enjoy reading all about our stresses and our fun as we start our new life together! It's like two freight trains. . .well, you know the rest \(^o^)/
