Greetings from Amsterdam!

Well, we made it Amsterdam. So far, much fun has been had, much alcohol has been consumed, much boogie has been gotten. Today, we started our excursions at the crack of noon because no one came back before 4am the night before!

This city is a unique blend of old and new. The buildings from the 17th century still loom yet the life inside is gleaming with modern, globalized culture. Where else can you go and hear five different languages being spoken on the same block? Although the social order of the city seems rather "loose" by American standards, it seems to work for the Europeans. The idea of legalized sex and drug use does not seem to affect the social and cultural structure of the people. If anything, their lives have many oulets by which stress can be alleviated. I think this is a lesson yet to be learned by the Americans still holding strong to tradition.

Need I mention the Europeans definitely know how to party?!
